I have had great luck with the following hard ware.

Canon VC-C50i PTZ camera connected by Canopus ADV110 Firewire capture device

Pinnacle Movie studio Firewire Capture Device

MXL AC-404 USB Conference Microphone

Logitech ORB web camera

CAD U7 USB conference Device

Viewcast Osprey 130 Video Capture Card

Panasonic DVX-100b camera by firewire

Epiphan VGA2USB VGA capture Device

I have even used a Polycom Voicestation 500 connected via Bluetooth for Audio Capture.

I am also in the process of testing a Canopus ACEDVio PCI card for connecting external cameras as well as an Audio feed from a standard Mixer.

Thanks,

We have been utilizing Panopto for many things.  As well as teachers creating preliminary presentations for Summer classes for remote students, we have also been utilizing it for capturing normal lectures and I even used Panopto to record our Commencement ceremony for direct integration and distribution through ItunesU.

I even helped a few teachers create a informational video that was sent to another class in another unversity.

Using Panopto has sure assisted us in Media creation and implementation of AV productions.  The investment allows our teachers to take their own initiative in creating there own media presentations and distribute them easily without a huge learning curve.

Sincerely,

Anton

Anton,

Have you used the Canopus ADV110 Firewire capture device with Macintosh computers at all?  We're having troubles finding a video capture device for the Mac Minis we have in some of our classrooms.

Thanks,

Rick

Rick,

I have used the Canopus ADV110 to capture to Imovie many of times and it works very well.   I have not yet tried it with Panopto though.  I'll tell you what, I have an Imac in my conference room that I will install the Panopto Recorder on to try the ADV110 with.   I will post the results later this afternoon.

If that doesn't work, I will speak with our helpdesk department and IT techs.  We have a certified Mac repair person on staff and I am sure he will be able to recommend some decent Video capture devices for Mac.

Sincerely,

Anton
